Greatest Gift

Greatest Gift

January 9, 2019

I suppose my greatest challenge in this lifetime has been relationships. Every man who walked into my world did so bearing a very special gift. Not the types of gifts wrapped in colorful paper with big fancy bows on top. No, the gifts they offered were much more noteworthy. They were messages encrypted and cloaked within dysfunction and drama. Some of these men knocked me on my butt and others to my knees, but the greatest ones, broke me wide open.

Today, only gratitude fills my heart for the men who shared these stirring moments of their lives with me. Without them I might still be that naive girl searching outside herself for the things that can only be found within. So to each of them, beginning with my father, who played their memorable role in my world perfectly - I thank you! You helped me see through my own delusions, realizing my value, my resilence, my power, my truth. You each handed me a key that unlocked a specific part of my soul, enabling me to uncover who I truly am, and loving who that is. For all along it was this deep relationship with myself that I was ultimately seeking.

There is no greater gift.
