Lets face it, a lot of us have walked some pretty rough roads, where we stumbled often and every now and again, fell flat on our asses. It seems to be the common theme for those who have come here to shake things up and create change in this world. But sometimes we can get stuck within all that mire and muck, allowing where we have been to influence where we're going and the way we feel about ourselves today. The more painful the fall, the more strenuous the climb back to our power.
Sometimes it can feel overwhelming, having to go in and sort through what is true about ourselves and what is simply beliefs we picked up along our journey - things that others have somehow convinced us we are, or are not. If we're not careful, we can let these misconceptions rule our lives, swallow us up whole, weigh us down and keep us sitting amongst the debris for years, resolute in our own suffering.
Now, I want to share something that I hope will make us all smile and perhaps have us viewing our lives with renewed optimism. The only thing keeping us from fulfilling our dreams and living a life of pure passion and joy is our beliefs about who we are. That critical voice in our head, that loves telling us how we don't quite measure up; that life is hard; that we can't succeed so don't even try; that we're worthless; that our lives have no meaning and never will; that there is no-way-in-hell we will ever be anything more than we are right now, (among a infinite array of other ridiculous commentary). This cynical voice within, is a master regurgitator of bullshit. It's all hogwash! Yes, I said it, HOGWASH. It's all a bunch of poppycock, horse-feathers, hooey, balderdash, codswallop, rubbish, twaddle, defeatist nonsense! (Is everyone smiling?)
The truth is, all those tough roads we walked had a distinct and divine purpose, and it wasn't to keep us face-planted in the dirt. They were developing our strength, formulating our wisdom, generating enough challenge to instigate a fury so passionate we would finally scream,
ENOUGHand walk on with all the skills and tools necessary to complete our life's ambitions. Yup, it was all for us.
Now get up, there's work to be done and adventures to be had!
Happy Sunday! I love you all so much!
