Personal empowerment doesn't mean being perfect, being right or even being happy every single moment of our lives. It means being who we truly are. Each one of us is both joy and misery, peace and chaos, compassion and indifference and so much more. By validating all these diverse aspects of ourselves, even the parts we deeply dislike (especially these), we experience wholeness again, and the conflict ends. This means allowing ourselves to express what we feel without judgment, without beating ourselves up, without resistance, without projecting outward, without believing we need to be something other than what we are.
Ending the conflict within, requires facing our fear, pain and disparity. This work is no picnic. In fact, it's messy and down-right excruciating at times, which is precisely why so many people avoid it. But ignoring the truth, by clinging to vices that detach us even further from ourselves, is detrimental to our well-being and never works long-term. The deeper the resistance - the stronger the addiction.
It takes real courage, honesty and fortitude to walk straight into the mystery of ourselves, and embrace every last morsel of what we find there. But we must fully support our own indivi(duality) in order to regain our power. It is this acceptance and unification, that ends the conflict and transforms our lives.
Being ourselves - something so simple, yet so challenging at times.
THAT my dear sweet friends, is what our souls long for most.
