Many years ago, someone told me that you can learn a lot about people by taking the back seat. Meaning: be silent, observe and listen closely.
This has served me in many ways throughout my life. It has allowed me to read people quickly; to discern between authenticity and agendas, sincerity and fallacy and to know when someone needs support, validation or love.
Sometimes we don't need a brilliant mind that speaks, but a caring heart that listens.
When we listen with open hearts, we connect and just know what is best.
This is one of the greatest kindnesses we can give to ourselves and each other.
