The Artisan Way

The Artisan Way

Success is finding work that excites us so much that nothing can squelch our enthusiasm. Obstacles and challenge only fuel the fire of our determination.

When I look out at the world it seems that most people equate success with money. I can't tell you how many years I was convinced I was missing some fundamental component because I never felt this way! My thrill has always come from the innovative process; the getting there; the taking of nothing and turning it into something. It wasn't until later in life that I realized this is merely the artisan way. Money usually isn't the driving force of the avant-garde creative. Artists just gotta create: musicians must play, dancers must dance, painters must paint, writers must write or they live with a gaping hole in their chest! Whenever we trade in our passions for a full-time grind because we don't believe we can make a living doing what we love, we do such a huge disservice to ourselves and the world.

My reason for saying all this, is that something truly awesome has happened!

Over 25 years ago I had a really cool idea, but at that time, for various reasons, I couldn't bring it to fruition. Then just a couple days ago, the inspiration I had given up on all those years ago returned in full force and now I see so clearly why I wasn't able to do this project back then. There were things I had to experience, discover and learn before my idea could be a success. It's all about divine timing! Remember just because the way hasn't shown itself yet, doesn't mean there isn't one! Never give up on your dream!

Success isn't necessarily about money. Shoot we're all successful for simply being alive! Congratulations! My view of success is, doing what sets your soul on fire; that thing that has you pumped and excited to get to work each day! When we're living that kind of life, we're living our purpose. And the money? Well, it will always find its way to a joyful heart.

Dream, create and prosper my loves.
