Water Under The Bridge

Water Under The Bridge

February 25, 2020

A bridge can still be built, while the bitter waters are flowing beneath. ~Anthony Liccione

Letting go of the past means clearing the memories, imagery and hurt; the venomous resentment and animosity; the sorrow and disappointment that binds our spirit.

As we let go, we purify these bitter waters with the recognition that none of us are perfect at this thing called life. We have all fouled up, botched and blundered, and made poor choices in our lives - choices that may have hurt someone deeply. When we're able to extend pardon to such transgressions against us, we strengthen our compassion and understanding, and melt the icy encumbrances that restrict our own ability to love completely.

You see, letting go of grievances frees us, and is far more gratifying than defending our rightness or hanging on to things that cannot be undone.

It gives us back our energy, power and peace.
