America is in a major state of transition.
During these times, it's helpful to remember that challenge and upheavel often accompany change. Think about each time you've ever had to move from one home to another - the laborious task of packing, the throwing away of things no longer needed, the discovery of filth when appliances are pulled out to clean behind, and the utter disarray until everything is unpacked and neatly put in its new and befitting place. Yes, change is always a bit messy.
Many of us have been waiting for this shift to occur for most of our lives, always knowing it would come wielding some degree of turbulence. On a collective level, we are moving through our shit, much like we've done on personal levels - processing our trauma and pain and coming out the other side of it with a deeper sense of peace and well-being. Remember how much fun that was???
For those who side-stepped that cleansing dive within the self, the chaos going on in our country right now may feel intense and overwhelming. Yet, it's merely our collective waste coming up to the surface to be cleared away for good. The dregs of hatred, rage, corruption, wickedness, oppression and nefarious deceptions are being revealed and discharged so that we all can finally see with 20/20 vision.
Once the sleep has been rubbed from our eyes and we begin to fully grasp the extent of deception and propaganda we have swallowed throughout our lives, I have no doubt we will come together as a nation. No longer intent on division, virtue-signaling, blaming, shaming and fighting over who's right; no longer spotlighting our differences nor degree of sufferings, but instead focused on unity, peace and freedom for all.
So on this 4th of July 2020, now more than ever, let's stand together in celebrating and renewing our commitment to uphold the truths of our great Declaration of Independence - 'that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.'
