How many times have we been in situations where red warning flags were waving and we chose to ignore them? How frequently has our gut screamed at us that we're being played and we chose not to listen? How often have we seen with our own eyes that something wasn't right and yet chose to justify it away? What makes the truth so hard to swallow?
Fear.
We're afraid that the very foundation upon which we've built our lives will crumble if we dare entertain the idea that any of our beliefs are based in bullshit. We're afraid of losing what we think we have. We're afraid of change. We're afraid of admitting we may have misread a situation because that would mean questioning our very own discernment. We're afraid on so many levels, but like I've said before...fuck fear!
From someone who has swatted down red flags, swallowed sweet lies and been on the receiving end of betrayal enough times to know - nothing good comes from tuning out the obvious. It's time to question our beliefs and not run from the answers. It's time to pivot from looking out there to looking within. When the truth makes its way to the light - and it will, it always does - any tuning out of what is really going on will only make matters worse because we will have become that much more entrenched in the deceptive illusion.
During these challenging times, even though we can't save anyone from their personal walk, those of us able to see through the fog can help elucidate those in fear-mode, that are struggling to discern truth from fiction, by being that red flag waving.
