Is it unreasonable to put faith in a force that cannot be seen; to believe we are a part of something greater than ourselves? Some people think so. Yet, is it any more reasonable to believe that we are simply victims of circumstance? That our suffering and challenges have no real purpose? That everything happening in our lives is simply random happenstance; a mere fluke; a coincidence without deeper meaning?
My point is, our beliefs are subjective. They are birthed from our own individual life adventures, which may seem like sheer nonsense in the eyes of another who has not had a similar experience. It is my personal view that our pain, frustration and challenges are leading us somewhere. That they are attempting to show us something. That they are instigating us to become more, and on some deeper level there is a divine reason for all of it. In fact, I could share numerous events from my life that convinced me beyond a shadow of doubt, that we are never alone and that something greater than ourselves is running this show. Some people call it God. Some people call it the Universe. Some people call it our Higher-Self. Some people call it bullshit.
I'm willing to bet, if we could walk a few miles in other people's shoes, that we would better understand from their experiences, why they hold the beliefs that they do. None of us can KNOW anything for certain until we have an experience that either confirms or denies it. This is the only way a belief will shift into a knowing.
The reason I bring this all up, is I see a lot of people get into huge arguments over what is true when it comes to spirituality. But we can't talk (nor scream) people into KNOWING something! We only gain discerment and wisdom through experience. The most valuable, loving and supportive thing we can do for one another, regardless of the topic, is simply share our stories.
