Often when we think of love, we think of forever. But don't confuse this with 'being together' forever. Love doesn't necessarily equate to staying in close relations. Family, friend or intimate partner. Staying in a relationship that is no longer fulfilling, stunts our growth, blocks opportunities and serves no one.
Sometimes we simply evolve in different directions and when the gap becomes too great; when there's more discontent than delight; when there's more hindering than helping, it takes courage to be the one to say it's time to move on.
Separating doesn't mean we stop loving. It means we love enough to set both ourselves and the other free.
Half of loving is knowing when to let go.
