You know those people that cross your path and within minutes have looked within your soul and unearthed that missing nugget; that piece of you that you buried deep beneath the debris of unworthiness? And they just point to it, unaware of the impact of their finding - that thing that you have spent a lifetime searching for; that thing that has been lost for so long and caused so much havoc in your life because of it's truancy. And immediately you feel exposed, vulnerable and ready to refute their assessment of your blindness to your very own treasure.
Well, this just happened with a woman I met the other day, but rather than squaring my shoulders and slipping on my tattered boxing gloves yet again, ready to defend and justify, I simply allowed the laceration of her words to deeply pierce and penetrate, until they cut me wide open. And as I stand here now in greater awareness of myself, still feeling the sting, I wonder if she even realizes what she did by simply saying, "You need to believe in yourself."
Our very purpose in being here right now is to find our way back to ourselves and share that light with the world. Yet the journey can sometimes feel as though we're all alone and lost within a maze of broken pieces - stumbling along, trying to feel our way through the darkness and back to our full potential and power. And as much as I love helping others along their journey, it is times like these when I have such deep appreciation for those simple little moments when someone sheds their light for me. Thank you.
