"Mastery is not acquired by doing many things once, but by doing one thing many times."
This is my spin on the famous Bruce Lee quote, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Ain't it the truth? I've found myself following this advice while mastering web design - I'm contantly repeating each new step I learn until I've got it down pat and it becomes second nature to me.
Of course, hopefully there are some things in life we don't have to experience over and over again before we get it. Ya know, like all those not-so-fun life lessons? Yet, as I browse back over the years I realize that yes indeed, many of the really challenging moments in my life were repeated numerous times (some more than I'd like to admit) before I got the dang message loud and clear.
I suppose that's the way of the warrior - go through hell - come out the other side wise. So if you find yourself in yet another difficult, familiar cycle, perhaps you're just polishing your proficiency in that particular area.
Remember, who we are now is due to all that we've been through, and who we will be tomorrow will be greatly influenced by all the lessons we're learning right now.
You're so AMAZING!
