How many times do we go through an entire day never once extending ourselves beyond what we have been?
How many times do we ignore opportunities presented to us to become even more?
How many times do we play small because we know that place well and are most comfortable there?
How many times do we allow fear to rule our choices?
How many times do we just go through-the-motions of life without much heart, passion or drive?
Well the truth is, we do it all the time! In big ways and in small.
These questions came to me today as I thought about how many times I've gone to the gym, jumped on the treadmill, done my 45 minutes to an hour of cardio then headed home. Yes, an hour of cardio each day is awesome, but it doesn't S-T-R-E-T-C-H me.
This led me to thinking about all the times in the past where I had turned away from opportunities that could have accelerated my pace to obtaining my goals, had I simply had the gumption to leap. Times when I simply didn't believe I could do something or was so afraid I didn't even give it a shot.
By courageously exerting ourselves, even a tiny bit more in all we do, we create a higher level of self-endurance, which becomes our new easy. Just like when we work out. At first we may not be able to lift our desired weight, or get fully in that yoga position, but with a little push, sweat, determination and consistency we will eventually hit the mark and move beyond it.
So I challenge you today to believe in yourself. To face your fears. To bolster your greatness by making the decision to do something new that takes you out of your comfort zone of routine and habit and expands you. Do something that upsurges your life and moves you a wee bit closer to your dreams.
Happy Weekend loves.
