How To Make Bone Broth
- Place organic grass-fed beef or chicken bones into a large stock or crock pot.
- Fill pot with clean, non-chlorinated water. Leave plenty of room for water to boil.
- Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. This helps to pull out important nutrients from the bones.
- Heat slowly. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
- Chicken bones can simmer for 24 hours. Beef bones for 48 hours. A low, slow cook time is needed to fully extract nutrients from bones.
- Optional: Toss in vegetables, like onions, garlic, carrots or celery for added nutrient value.
- Optional: Add a pinch of rosemary, salt and/or turmeric.
- Strain and pour into glass mason jars. Can them or keep in fridge for up to a week.
If you would rather buy bone broth, you can usually find varieties in the freezer section or soup aisle at your local market.
