Let's Make Cookies!

December 16, 2025

Christmas is just around the corner and if you're like me, the baking has already begun. I got the pumpkin breads, applesauce loaves, peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies made and the caramel popcorn for gifting, but it's just not Christmas without the traditional batch of iced sugar cookies! Since that is on my agenda for today, I thought I'd share this delicious recipe I found and a yummy simple icing that doesn't require corn syrup or meringue powder. I will be using all natural, organic ingredients and a whisk or hand mixer, but if you have a stand mixer, by all means, spare your hands. As always, tweak and adjust my recipes to your liking. With that said, let's throw on our aprons and get to it...

  11. Remove dough from fridge and on a floured surface, work dough until malleable.
  12. With roller, spread out dough to desired thickness.
  13. Cut out shapes and place on parchment lined cookie sheet.
  14. Bake for 8-9 minutes.
  15. Allow to cool completely.
  16. Once cooled, they are ready for icing.
